Non-company patents can block or restrict the commercialization of new products if patent infringement issues are present. This course is introduces the R&D community (Engineers/Scientists) to a formal freedom to operate assessment process and policies. Students will learn about the key review processes and considerations for conducting freedom to operate studies and how to request a patent assessment when there may be a risk from a non-company patent.
